When I set out to expose Reuben “Kpakwuregede” the lunatic masquerading as Enugu’s political communications local champion, my objectives were simple and they were, first, to save the, mostly innocent people from eternally consuming the inane gibberish of a madman strutting the stage simply because those that invited him to the runway for a catwalk simply do not know better. Secondly, and that also links with the first, I thought there was the need for his ignorant paymasters to realise that funding insane drivel has its limitations in effectiveness.

Since the announcement I made on social media that my support for the Enugu governorship elections would go to Chijioke Edeoga, I have made just a few other posts. The two major articles that I have written addressed the Reuben Onyishi lunacy.

You see, I studied political communications and gained hands-on experience under the tutelage of the best, and one of the strengths I acquired from years of working in this business is arresting the attention of anyone I work for by emphasizing their strengths and positives. The average human being walks around with a questioning mind, and once you continually and sustainably feed them with falsehood, they soon begin to ask questions and once your propaganda is debunked, you lose your audience.

That is chiefly why I do not pack bags full of aspersions on people on the other side of the table with those I service.

Ahead of embarking on the task of marketing Chijioke Edeoga for the task of winning Enugu’s governorship elections in 2023, the first thing I did was to scan the space for everything about him in the public space.

And I found two extreme perspectives, flowing from the same source. The good, often excessively flowery stories I picked about him were written and published, mostly by one person – Reuben Onyishi and/or his other aliases. On the other hand, nearly all the bad, uncomplimentary rhetoric was also authored by the same person, and as I quickly learned, these were being pushed through his multifarious “pseudo-names”, as they call it in Enugu.

“Pseudo-name”, which in proper English, is actually pseudonym, is the most valuable PR strategy in Enugu. During my days as an aide to Governor Ugwuanyi, I was encouraged to adopt one or more “pseudo-names” which I’d use in responding to those opposed to the policies, actions and dispositions of government.

But I knew that professionally, this was always going to be counterproductive. Public Communication and reputation building/management cannot be constructively executed under fake identities and multitudinous aliases. Only tyrants and vacuous leaders of the dictatorial kind utilize this. Anyone executing constructive political relationship management has only one way to make this happen – develop a plan, adopt a proposition and work hard to popularize this.

If you win over the targets, you work even harder to keep them on your side. If you fail to win them, you try even harder.

But you don’t do so, hiding behind dishonest masks of multiple fake identities and social media profiles. And for this reason, I refused to join that bandwagon, as popular as it was. All articles I published had my name on them. All posts I made on social media were made via y only Facebook account.

So when I see articles written by names that sound suspicious and with zero digital footprints, I immediately knew Kpakwuregede is high on his drugs and about to tell his narcissistic tales. I had investigated Reuben since 2020/2021 and had known who he was, and I was always wondering what otherwise responsible people would ever find useful in somebody of such queer motivation.

It was for this reason that I decided to expose him for who he is before commencing my engagements, which will be, and I am telling everyone well ahead, to sell my chosen and preferred candidate. And unlike Reuben, this will be executed, via my official engagement handles

But the dunderhead does not understand this strategy, and neither does he have the extrospection that could help him unravel what is involved in media war games and how they are played. As a bully, he is wired like all people of shallow intelligence and low wit, who believe the only way to win arguments is by screaming at the tops of their lungs. Making sense takes the backseat for people of this stock and the louder their coarse voices sound, the more they think they are on their victory laps. They don’t always see the derision faces of the dissonated and discommunicated people they think they are addressing

In designing his campaign gobbledygook that the entire Enugu PDP and the government are paying heavily for, Reuben Kpakwuregede never reckoned on the vastly experienced Ikem Okuhu being in the arena. This has been why, in the past few days, Reuben has been committing grievous mistakes.

The first mistake was to go dig up an article I had written and published when he, and a few other government-sponsored minions, were threatening my life over an article I had published concerning the effort by the government to pass into law, fat pension and other allowances for former governors, their wives and deputies (I hear this law is being quietly reintroduced, but that is a question for another day).

What ignorant Reuben did not know was that he has inadvertently brought back into the public space, an issue that constituted a major reputation challenge for his principal. But in his warped, ignorant mind, he felt he was profiling me as an aggressor. Now I have had to deal with a few people in his circle who did not read the article at the time it was published, and who are reaching out to find out what eventually happened about that law and other associated issues.

And then there was a second mistake. On Tuesday afternoon, I was tagged to a story purportedly published in Peter Mbah’s campaign group, purportedly written by one Ogbonna Asadu. The article was apparently a reply to another article that I never even saw, but which was credited to a certain Ikechukwu Nnamani, and which Kpakwuregede blindly concluded it was written by me, and thus made it his business to paste my name all over his sickening reply.

I will not tell the implication of this fixation on his job as spokesperson for both government and the PDP candidate. But let me say this; my personal blog, ikemsjournal.com.ng is a strong platform I built to address serious issues. My audience is rich and they transcend the shores of this country, and if I didn’t have an overriding purpose, there was no way I would have put the name of a vermin like Kpakwuregede on that platform. It’s like throwing gold at swine.

Having seen the mishandling of Enugu by former governor Chimaroke Nnamani, I have had concerns about the next governor of Enugu State being somebody that, by political and commercial association, is associated with, and actually introduced by him. I strongly believe Enugu State needs a departure from its era of quasi-dictatorship. The revelations about Pinnacle Oil haven’t given me comfort too, but I have nothing personal against Peter Mbah. That is because I don’t even know who he is, and had never heard his name before until the Enugu guber primaries began to gather steam. So where did depraved Reuben believe I got all the things that he referred to in his reply?

Whenever I write, I do so with conviction, and that is because every word I drop on paper represents a manifestation of my essence, my being, and my philosophy. When Chijioke Edeoga was running for governorship under PDP, I distanced myself from him and that was chiefly because of the presence of people of questionable integrity like Reuben. It was just impossible for me to stay in the same room with him and work towards the same objective. Reuben has no objective, except you are one of those who believe a loafing lunatic has an objective. Once I noticed that his proboscis was deep into the skin of Hon. Edeoga, I kept my distance. His presence negatively affected my belief. I have to believe in you to support you. Even if you lied your way into extracting that belief, the idea that it is coming from me is important.

There is no point responding to any of the desperate insinuations in Reuben’s insane rants, which, I assume, emanates from his attempt at deflecting the issues I raised in the treatise that put him up for psychological examination. Reuben is a man whose life has been a mess from the very beginning.

I know that he will be fixated on me until the end of this journey. In his ignorance, he will believe that dragging my name into his every deranged conversation will somehow, confer sanity on him and validate his intelligence. Being daft, he believes in being smart by association., even if the outcome robs negatively on his principals. Reuben does not care about his clients. As far as he is concerned, he is the one in the arena. He is merely using others to draw attention to himself.

Read him and you will understand this, He will always find a way to infuse one or two things about himself in all his writings. That is the way of narcissists, and when narcissism blends so smoothly with mental illness and the kind of haunted geneology that attended his upbringing, the outcome cannot be anything but putrid.

Kpakwuregede remains a catastrophic disaster forever on the verge of happening to those around him. I doubt if he has had the time to investigate it, but I am aware that Peter Mbah and even Governor Ugwuanyi have both attracted more enemies since that dragged Reuben close than they ever had. I am aware that even among the team managing the two, his gross, domineering attitude has been eating into team health, leading to internal wranglings.

But that is not even my problem. My main challenge is how to develop, implement and execute a world-class campaign messaging for Chijioke Edeoga, my choice to govern the people of Enugu State from 2023.
